I’m not sure why we waited so long to post this on our site, but we had our debut on Dutch National TV. Erik was contacted (he’s the most visible one of us three) by De Wereld Draait Door to come and show our 3D printer. They thought it was a good idea to print a whistle, so we did. We just that day received some really good quality PLA and it printed very smooth and quick. The printer actually had a small startup error but a second time it fired off.

Do you have any idea when you will open source the plans to the Ultimaker? I talked a bit with Erik about it at the Fab6 conference in de Waag a bit and it looked very nice even back then.. I’m itching to start building one myself, just can’t go the Mendel way now that I’ve seen the magic you guys work with the external extruder mechanism…

Er zijn regelmatig Ultimakers te zien op FabLab Protospace in Utrecht. De Ultimaker is een resultaat van een open innovatieproject dat voortkomt uit dit FabLab. Er is daar ook een open inloop, m.a.w. vrije toegang. De Ultimaker wordt normaal gesproken voor 19 euro bij je thuisbezorgd, maar er komen een paar ophaalmomenten, mocht je iets langer kunnen wachten en deze kosten willen vermijden. De aankoop gaat uitsluitend via onze webshop.
