We’re giving away a complete Ultimaker 3D printer! The only thing you have to do is submit a great design to the contest.
The first prize is an Ultimaker 3D printer and a 3D print of the design, 2nd Prize is a 3D scanner and a 3D print of the design and 3rd prize is a 3D print of the design. Price winners will be announced during the 3D Printing Event, October 25 2011, Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
We will be present during the Dutch Design Week at the 3D printing event.

Gah the painted Ultimakers look sooo good! Wish I could buy one of those, hint hint.
This was a poor way to run a design contest. The 10 finalist are chosen by popular votes…and NOT by best design/concept or even build-ability on an utlimaker. I see at least 5-6 well designed concepts that should of been in the finals! Someone is going to win a 3d printer just because of how popular they are with a poorly designed object??
We didn’t write the contest rules, but they were known an posted well in advance. In the Netherlands we say: “Don’t look a given horse in its mouth.” saying people are not supposed to criticize gifts.
Argh… only saw now that it ended the 25th. Not a long time to ready a design. Oh well
I hope that there will be future competitions.
Sorry i hit reply instead of comment :S What i wanted to reply is that the saying is “Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth”, no offense meant
Good Morning (at least it’s morning here!),
I am a F.I.R.S.T. Robotics coach for both FTC and FRC teams. My teams are very interested in getting a 3D printer for prototyping their robot parts. Since we are in the USA , I need to know the shipping charges and if there is any chance of an educational, or F.I.R.S.T. discount.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Magi
Mine was US$1,831 (€1,318) total, including shipping to the Boston area. It went through Chicago first so total cost is probably similar if you’re in the lower 48..
