The first Ultimaker made by children

ABC3D is a 2012 educational film directed and produced by Raapwerk. The film was released on May 30, 2012. Its stars: Alant children, a class for gifted education at the Chr. Jenaplan Morgenster Elementary School in Geldermalsen (The Netherlands), Tjepko de Boer, director of the school, Manuela van den Bos, teacher of gifted children, Inge Roos, science and technology teacher, Erik de Bruijn, co-founder Ultimaker.

The film is commissioned by the Chr. Jenaplan Morgenster Elementary School and by the Science and Technology Center Gelderland (KWTG).

  1. Brilliant! As a designer maker myself I deeply understand the value of learning by doing and these kids are very fortunate to have this 3D project as part of their curriculum. Will this method of learning continue into secondary school? I sure hope so as for many people learning just via text and words is not their learning style – it is a struggle to understand and is then de-motivating. I found this project very inspiring and thank you for sharing it via the video.
