Drum-roll please, because we have some fantastic news that we want to share with you! Today we have officially launched the fully assembled Ultimaker in our shop! This is the first time ever that you can purchase a fully assembled and fully tested Ultimaker directly from the shop.
And to celebrate this milestone we have made a Limited Edition of 25 pieces, which are signed by each of the 3 founders and numbered (don’t worry, it’s discreetly on the bottom). Regard it as, our little secret gift to you!
The fully assembled printer will retail for 1699 Euro (excl. VAT).
So what do you get for that?
- Your fully assembled fully tested Ultimaker and the first 25 on line purchases will receive the limited edition Ultimaker. The Ultimaker is the fastest, highest -detailed 3D printer in its segment which can print up to 9000 cc volume!
- Fully assembled and tested Ulti-controller. With the Ulti-controller you can use your Ultimaker without the need of your computer’s USB port, essentially making the Ultimaker a stand-alone device. Another great advantage is that you can change speed and/or temperature during the printing process, giving you more control over your prints.
- 1 roll of PLA included. PLA is a strong biopolymer that prints beautifully and is biodegradable. Just pick a color and start printing, right out of the box!
- All the necessary tools. Eg. blue scotch role and the hex screw driver. We calibrate all the Ultimakers before shipping, with a little robot surprise
, but after transportation it may need some final calibration. We made a simple how-to-videos to help you get printing ASAP.
You can place your order here!
We are so proud with this epic milestone, and this is just the beginning!

Wow–I was working for only about €5 per hour when I assembled my Ultimaker about a month ago!
But I do well-know how it functions as a result.
Hello
I have been following your product for some time now and the kit was putting me off so I am very interested in purchasing the new assembled Ultimaker. I really want to ask you a few questions first before i purchase.
1. Is the lack of heated platform not a problem
2. I will have to learn computer sketching. Can i shortcut that by buying a scanner. I am a craftsman and can easily model in wood, clay etc the object to scan that might be quicker than my using Sketchup. You can tell I am new to this technology but I am a highly skilled craftsman – see my website. Pl;ease reply asap.
Hi Jeremy,
I appreciate it that you kept an eye on us even thought we only supplied kits at the time!
your answers:
1)If you print with PLA then no it isn’t a problem not having a heating pad. But if you want to print with ABS you NEED a heated bed! You can attach a heated bed on the Ultimaker (the ports are built on the circuit boards) and its also integrated in the open source Cura software we use. But at least for now you will have to attach it yourself.
2)Hard to say, if its your goal to 3D print existing objects (for models etc) then a scanner can bypass the comp. sketching learning curve, but if you want to make new and original forms you have to use a comp. sketching tool at one point. There are several different interfaces available, from pens to hap tonic devices, not all are mouse driven anymore…hope that this helps a bit. If you have more direct questions you can visit our google groups forum, there is a lot of knowledge there.

my first question clearly proofs that you’ve finally reached the mainstream – at least with me: Are there different colors available?
And are more technical one: Would PLA be suitable for “under the hood” applications? I would for example like to print an intake manifold adapter. It would face up to 80 degrees celsius and water/gasoline/oil as well.
many thanks for your help
Thanks!
There are several different colored PLA in the shop.
Personal no, I don’t think its possible due to structural integrity issues but I asked the Q on one of our forums, mayble they know more.
Have a nice day!
